Grandfather and Dylan, Watercolor by Linda Sewerker

I have taken an interest in being an artist who captures special family moments. My new dog Cora is drawn on my business cards. I think the people and animals I love help inspire me to do my best work.
I am interested in capturing moments for family and friends. This watercolor painting is for my high school friend Janet Burke , who now lives near Washington DC. She was spending a day admiring the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin.
I enjoy walking to reflect the seasons or nature. I'm directly influenced by what is in my garden, and neighborhood. I painted this from a photo I took in April. It is the entry to the street I live on and I was attracted to the new buds on the trees and the a freshly applied layer of bark.
